We've selected the winners of our 2011 Comfort Food Recipe Contest! The judging was held at the Platter House Ocean Retreat in Souris, PEI, on the heels of the Island's food festival extraordinaire, Fall Flavours. (Every year the event is held in a different Atlantic Canadian community, so we can enrich our knowledge of the culinary landscape accordingly.) Judges were Bobby MacMillan, Atlantic Aqua Farms; Linda Duncan, Mussel Council of North America; Esther Gauthier, avid Souris home cook; Jesse MacDonald, chef at Rodd Brudenell River Resort. The finalist recipes were prepared for rating by Joel Shore, Georgetown Inn, and our in-house chef, aka food editor, Alain Bossé. Thanks to our gracious host at the Platter House, Melvin Ford, the judges, the chefs and to our readers who shared their coveted recipes with us.
