The Canadian and International Garden Tourism Awards took place last week in Toronto; awards went to organizations and individuals “who have distinguished themselves in the development and promotion of the garden experience as a tourism attraction.” At the front of the pack: Atlantic Canada’s own Kingsbrae Garden, in St. Andrews, NB, which won Garden of the Year.

Halifax is hopping with live music in the lead-up to the East Coast Music Awards Gala, which takes place Sunday, March 10, at the city’s Cunard Centre. More than 2,000 musicians have converged for this 25th-anniversary event. Saturday’s highlights include a children’s concert at the Keshen Goodman Public Library, a live CBC Radio broadcast from Citadel High’s Spatz Theatre, a showcase featuring musicians from Newfoundland and Labrador, and much more.
