Ingredients1 lb (450 g) fresh whole carrots
2 tbsp (30 mL) butter
1/2 cup (125 mL) pure maple syrup
1/2 tsp (2 mL) coarse salt
In a medium-size saucepan bring approximately 2 cups (500 mL) of water to a boil. Add carrots and cook until tender, approximately 7 to 10 minutes (depending on size).
Drain water; add butter, maple syrup and salt. Bring to a boil, then simmer 5 to 6 minutes, until caramelized (carrots appear coated in caramel.)
