About the Contest

Dog owners across Atlantic Canada submitted their favourite photos for a chance to be featured online, in the magazine, and to win custom-branded YETI dog bowls for their loyal companion.

The grand prize included custom-branded YETI dog bowls celebrating our Top Dog of the East Coast winner.

Contest Categories

All dogs were automatically considered for the Top Dog Grand Prize, with additional sub-categories celebrating every personality:

• Salty Dogs — Beachy pups
• Harbour Hounds — Dock or boat life
• Maritimes Manners — Polite pooches
• Blizzard Barkers — Snow dogs
• Ruffing It — Cottage, campfire, and trail companions
• The Ruferee / Field Fetchers — Active outdoor dogs
• Kitchen Companions — In the heart of the home
• Plaid Pooch — Stylish pups in East Coast fashion
• People's Pup — Audience favourite via public voting

Each category winner received bragging rights and a special dog-themed prize.

How Entries Worked

1. Upload a Photo
   Contestants chose their favourite photo of their dog — whether striking a pose, snoozing on the couch, or making a muddy mess.
2. Fill Out the Entry Form
   Entrants shared their dog's name, contact info, and what makes their dog special.
3. Select a Category
   Choose the sub-category that best fits their dog's personality.
4. Submit and Share
   Entries were shared on social media using #TopDogContest and tagging @saltscapes to be considered for the People's Pup spotlight.
