The bar opens at 6:30pm; enjoy cocktails and mingle until the guests at the head table are — of course — piped in. The Selkirk Grace is recited and the Cock-a-Leekie Soup served, then the chef, yielding the much-anticipated haggis, is piped in, and the evening continues in this vein, with more readings, toasts and delicacies.
