Saltscapes Road Trip Day 11
Day 11 and, except for traveling, the closest thing we've had to date to a day off so far. Besides navigating the back roads of two provinces in a cumbersome vehicle, tending to the needs of a pack of puppies, meeting with as many folks as humanly possible - we have been electronically tending to business back at the office where a very competent staff have been putting two magazines out simultaneously. We've been literally falling into bed for the few hours of sleep the pups allowed us.
Well, that has suddenly all changed. The magazines are ready to go on press.
We have only one puppy left - and we're getting a full night's sleep. It feels good.
Left PEI early to catch the ferry and drove to the Salmon Pool Inn on the lower end of the Margaree River (where salmon are running in numbers not seen for many, many years and where angers are crowding on to pools in what is, sadly, Nova Scotia's last remaining healthy major river. Quite a spectacular management failure).
We are delighted with the pups' new home. Two males, one black and one yellow, are replacing one black and one yellow lab who were formerly a major factor in the life of the new owner. He is ecstatic and we are delighted with their new home.
A pleasant dinner (and maybe a trifle too much wine) was enjoyed by all before packing readiness for another early morning departure heading for North Sydney and the Port aux Basques ferry.
