Halifax designer Marie Webb is making a splash in international fashion. The 34-year-old was showcased on several runways during New York Fashion Week last September and returned to the fashion capital in the winter to present her Brag Wear collection at the ZAZ10TS gallery on Times Square.

Webb, the creative force behind her label Lemonade Stand Designs, is making a name for herself as she blurs the lines between fashion and art. Her current streetwear collection is an expression of her tenacity and passion.

Webb’s mother, artist and teacher Renee Forrestall Webb, says her daughter’s dedication to art is much like that of her grandfather, the late Tom Forrestall, one of Canada’s most prominent realist painters.

But Marie has her own style. She finds inspiration for her visually striking and thought-provoking designs in the things she loves.

Webb’s ideas and vision are tightly woven in collaborations with other East Coast artists and NSCAD University, Nova Scotia’s art and design school. Learn more about her and her colour bombing work at lemonadestanddesigns.com.
