Aunt Kaye’s Oatmeal Biscuits

Ingredients

3           cups (750 mL) white flour

3           cups (750 mL) oatmeal

5           tsp (25 mL) baking powder

1            tsp (2 mL) salt

1            cup (250 mL) shortening

1            cup (250 mL) brown sugar

              raisins (optional)

1            cup (250 mL) water or milk

1            egg, beaten

 

Mix all ingredients and then roll out and make biscuits. Put on greased pan and bake at 450⁰F (230°C) for approx. 15 minutes.
