Ingredients

2     tablespoons (30 mL) butter
2     tablespoons (30 mL) brown sugar
1     can (19-ounce/540 mL) apple pie filling
1/2      teaspoon (2 mL) ground cinnamon
1/4     cup (50 mL) chopped walnuts

Directions

In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in brown sugar, pie filling and cinnamon. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Remove from heat and stir in walnuts. Serve warm over ice cream. Makes 8 servings. Any leftover sauce can be covered and stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
