Gahan House, PEI

You could be forgiven for thinking that Gahan House is another run of the mill chain pub, based solely on the fact they have locations in Charlottetown, Halifax and a soon-to-be-opened location (fall 2017) in Saint John. Gahan House is, in fact, the property of a single entity and their philosophy is simple: “to be an authentic pub specializing in great pub fare and handcrafted ales brewed on site.”

The PEI location is a favourite of ours and while the menu does offer traditional pub menu items, it also goes well beyond that. You’ll find wonderfully unexpected surprises such as jambalaya made with a variety of fresh island seafood or a creamy house-made butter chicken. Pair your meal with a house-crafted stout, lager or ale and then cap off your visit with a tour of their brewing facilities. You’ll understand why Gahan House is synonymous with island hospitality.
