Nova Scotia Loyal isn’t a typical buy-local program — it provides many ways to help make it easier for Nova Scotians to buy local more often and support local producers.

Nova Scotia Loyal is creating a movement, building demand for and consumption of local products to put more money directly into the hands of local producers. The program helps shoppers more easily identify local products and provides consumer incentives through partnerships with industry associations and retailers to reward Nova Scotians when they choose local. Producers are using the Nova Scotia Loyal brand on their products so consumers can easily find local products no matter where they shop in the province.

Throughout December, consumers get a 10 per cent instant cash incentive using same the code “NSLoyal10” to purchase from the online industry associations Taste of Nova Scotia and Cape Breton Centre for Craft and Design

"Taste of Nova Scotia is grateful for the province's support of our members and our gift baskets through the Nova Scotia Loyal 10 per cent discount this holiday season,” says Emily Haynes, executive director of Taste of Nova Scotia. “This initiative highlights the power of community investment, helping small businesses thrive, keeping dollars within our local economy, and showcasing the exceptional businesses that make our province unique.”

Continuing through March, consumers also receive a 10 per cent instant cash incentive using the code “NSLoyal10” when buying from the WFM2Go, Prospect, and Cape Breton online farmers’ markets.

"The Nova Scotia Loyal Program’s 10 per cent discount means so much to small businesses like ours,” says WFM2Go vendor Sarah of Two Birds One Stone Farm. “It encourages customers to shop local, allowing us to connect with our community while reinvesting in the province’s economy. It’s a meaningful way to celebrate and support the hard work of Nova Scotia entrepreneurs."

Producers also benefit, introducing their products to new loyal customers.

"It's great to see the provincial government incentivizing consumers to support local,” say WFM2Go vendors Sean Myles and Gina Haverstock, owners of Annapolis Fine Cheese. “The NS Loyal program puts the wind in the sails of local producers like us. The marketing and special offers have helped turn people's attention to the importance of buying local products."

When you purchase a Nova Scotia Loyal identified product, you can be confident you are contributing directly to a local grower, harvester, crafter, or manufacturer.
