Dairy Isle Cheddar & Mozzarella Biscuits
Ingredients
4 cups (1 L) all-purpose flour
2 tbsp (30 mL) baking powder
1 tsp (5 mL) salt
1 tsp (5 mL) Old Bay seasoning
1 cup (250 mL) butter, frozen
1½ cups (375 mL) milk
½ cup (125 mL) Dairy Isle cheddar, grated
½ cup (125 mL) Dairy Isle mozzarella, grated
Directions
Preheat oven to 450°F (230°C)
Combine flour, baking powder, salt and Old Bay seasoning. Grate frozen butter and incorporate into the flour mixture. Stir in milk and cheese, combine and turn out onto floured surface. Roll and use a floured cookie cutter to make approximately 12 generous-sized biscuits. Place on a parchment-lined baking tray. Bake for 15 minutes or until golden brown.
Note: Biscuits may require less or more milk depending on how much humidity is in the air. The goal is to have the dough come together but not be too sticky to handle.
